2Crafty

Today I'm sharing a page I did with some fabulous 2Crafty chipboard I won from the Kraft It Up challenge site a couple of months ago. It's on a background I made last year when I was playing around with embossing powder and stencils.

I used The Crafter's Workshop stencils with Stampendous embossing powder, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Tim Holtz Distress Stain, Scrap Matrix washi tape & 'Out There' trinket, shipping tags, a little piece of scrap
patterned paper (can't remember where from), Dymo.....
And this, this, and this from 2Crafty.

Birthday Time

It was my #1 son's birthday a couple of days ago and I am way behind with birthday pages so this mood board from Scrap Around The World was the best excuse to catch up on at least one.

I went with the red, yellow, teal colour scheme and added touches of gold

New Echo Park

The lovely Kylie from Shop & Crop sent me some brand new Echo Park 'My Life' papers and cardstock stickers to play with. I love this mini-theme collection as it's so versatile with brights and greys, and adaptable to almost any subject.

I created these 2 pages in a few hours on Sunday afternoon
when the house was quiet.
I scraped and dribbled some Kaisercraft black paint on the background, layered up the Echo Park and added some really old Heidi Swapp alpha stickers for the title. Journalling as usual with Dymo.

And for this one I wanted a splashy and bright background so I went with Ranger Dylusions and Distress Stains, I used mostly stickers from the Echo Park collection and some Green Tara twine.

UmWow, I flaired!

I had some fun with UmWow this month too.
Playing along with their sketch challenge with this page

I have used a piece of chunky chevron border
(painted with distress stain in brushed pewter),
a view finder film reel (coloured with a black Copic marker),
some heart confetti (with black Kindyglitz),
and a couple of sidewalk chalk flair.

This is the sketch

Gorgeous, right!

Grungy Girly

Playing with this sketch from the January Scrap The Girls challenge

Here is my page....

I used Prima papers which I got in a beautiful prize pack from Blitsy
and some other stuff I had lying around.
I didn't have any pics from the actual event,
the girl-child doesn't think of them in the excitement. But I did
take some when she got home covered in mud and I also managed to acquire
the metal key that she found in the mud at the event and her ticket, so all up
it is a page full of memories for her.

Scrap Around the World

Is a fun, newish challenge blog full of amazing and inspiring creatives.
This is their November challenge...

And this is the page I made, inspired by the colours and drippiness of the paint.
I also used the sketch rotated clockwise.

I might have to retreat to my art room now as it is raining again today and such perfect weather for flinging around some ink & paint :-D

Halloween Grunge

Last year the kids had a Halloween Social at school
and Ed wanted to be a Zombie.
The pics were awesome with him in costume and make-up thanks to
his wonderful (and skilled) big sister Ruby.
This is the page I did for the most recent issue of The Paper Haus e-zine,
you should pop over and check it out if you haven't already,
it is chock-full of stunning work!

I'm linking this up at Paper Issues for their Halloween theme
so head over there if you want oodles of inspiration.

Issues with Chipboard

At Gauche Alchemy recently we had a swap with UmWow Studio
and had the chance to play with some excellent and gorgeous chipboard products.
Here is the page I did, you can find more details on it here.

The fabulous layered fabric chevrons are handmade by Charmane Koch at
Charm's Creations, she also makes hearts, banners, and doiley doodads called
page runners, I am quite smitten with them lately!
I'm linking this page up at Paper Issues where the current issue is UmWow.

Nice to *see you today :-)

July at SUYS

I have been lucky to have both time and mojo recently
and have played with several challenges this month.
I will be posting a few more as time permits, but for now
it's a wintery challenge for us lot Downunder this month at

I used up a bunch of black art pad off-cuts for the layered strips and added
grungey colour with metallic Tim Holtz distress stains. A little bit of Kindyglitz put
some frosty sparkle on my American Crafts thickers title and the button
on Charms Creations 'mini runner'.
All up a pretty quick and simple page.

Remembering Crazy

Crazy is the word up at One Little Word, until the new one in a few days,
and I was inspired to scrap a page about an old Uni friend who I caught up with last year.
I don't have a photo of us back in the day, we were too busy being ratbags whenever we were together, so I just used the current one and kept journalling details fairly minimal
(don't want the teen kids to have a bad example, eh!). One day I might elaborate
with some hidden journalling on a page ;-)

Sorry it's a little fuzzy, the days here lately have been so gloomy.
I used lots of leftover little pieces from my Gauche Alchemy Color Kits
on top of a grungey background that's been sitting around for ages.

Playing with Charms Creations

Recently I scored my first batch of Charms Creations chevrons at a scrap retreat
and loved them so much that I bought some more. Here is the first lot
on a page I had been planning for ages and just didn't know how to start.
They kicked it off easily because they were the perfect colour.

I played around the eges of full page mats with an EK Success border punch
and journalled on correction tape. Some really old Basic Grey and Heidi Swapp
alphas with my fave Dymo, a touch of washi tape, and it's all done.
This was one of my warm-up pages for that weekend, and though I prefer the later ones more,
I love this one because it is so evocative of the night we'd had.

SWAT with texture

Are you going to play at Sketches with a Twist this month?
It's a gorgeous sketch designed by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen
and the twist is 'texture paste'

This is my page, I flipped and turned the sketch.
The chevron is done with texture paste and a TCW stencil
then misted while still wet. For the splats I used Tim Holtz
distress stain -tarnished brass, it's awesome!
The picture I took when I was in Darwin last year
my first sunset over the ocean, so beautiful!
So come along and play with us,
check out the blog for some DT inspiration.

He is Awesome!

I had a play with the Twiddleybitz colour challenge this month, it was truly irresistible... The texture and colours really grabbed me!

They were so perfect for these pics I took of DS#3 in front of the Autumn leaves.
Of course all the chipboard elements are Twiddleybitz.
Basic Grey patterned paper
Tim Holtz ditress stains provided the colour
and some b&w Bazzill, dymo and October Afternoon alpha stickers.
