Paper Haus projects

Here is one of my pages from the Spring issue of Paper Haus ezine.
If you haven't had a squizz yet make sure you do, it is so full of prettiness!

I also have a step-by-step on making this teeny tiny album in there.

Our very own Aussie Stacey Young along with Maiko Kasugi and Lisa Gregory
are the amazingly talented featured artists, you really need to see their work!

Happy reading!

Home on the range

Word up #69, 'Home' is the current challenge at One Little Word.
Here's my page, head on over and checkout the inspo.

I used a 12"x 8" photo cut into 2 pieces, top and bottom, to get a panorama feel.
A couple of Gauche Alchemy supplies (punchinella, ouchless cardboard), some old
Pink Paislee chippy letters, Dymo, twine, Maya Rd chippy houses and some doodads.

Mixed media scrapbook pages with Gauche

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter break
and celebrated all that it means to you.
I was lucky to get in some much needed creative time.

This page went up on the Gauche Alchemy blog in march,
a result of my mojo-boosting process, you can read all about it here.
There were loads of fab ideas on kick-starting your creative process
by the girls in March so make sure you have a browse around
while you're there. I used some stuff from the colour kits, punchinella, lace,
and washi tapes. I also used up some leftover Christmas tags,
those are the 'naughty' bits lol. And do you see the background stamp?
I love it so much!

If you're not yet signed up for the awesome newsletter
(you can do that on the left side-bar of the blog here)
you might have recently missed this one too.

Lots more Gauche goodness, 'ouchless cardboard', paper napkins,
lace, punchinella, and doodads from the colour kits.
See the little teddy there next to the photos?
That was a wee toy stencil that I filled with Dimensional Magic and
GA gold beads then filled in any holes with Kindyglitz, cute!

Just so you know, the Gauche Alchemy shop is closed for the moment
while Gauche Mama Chrissy relocates with her family to Japan
but will be up and running again very soon,
keep an eye out here.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Finn-tastic!

I had the best time last week thanks to a whole bunch of wonderful people!
Rae organised for Finnabair to come all the way from Poland to teach mixed media classes, this one in Sydney was organised by Eunice. My gorgeous friend Diane and her family accommodated me and Diane came to the classes too :-)
My darling hubby stayed home with the kids and #1 son ferried them to school and activities.
I am blessed!

I also got to meet up with some wonderful Aussie scrapbookers - Nadia Cannizzo, Kim Price, Di Garling, Julene Matthews, and Kim Kendall from SWAT. There were 50 of us in the class and I talked with lots more lovely ladies but alas cannot remember names.

Here we are

And here are my two projects
Firstly a layout with lots of luscious metal grunge and prettiness.

And secondly a mixed media canvas.
I must be a little more careful misting near the photo next time.
(This is the one that gave me the blister ;-)

The products we used were from the gorgeous new ranges
from Prima that Finn designed - Sunrise Sunset and Mechanicals.

The entire experience was absolutely brilliant,
I am so grateful to all the ladies who made this happen!

Thanks so much for dropping by,

More washi fun!

My layout for Sketches with a twist this month was so much fun,
I discovered a new technique which I love!
I laid overlapping strips of coordinating washi tapes on a sheet of baking paper and then cut circles out of it to emulate the circles in
Julianne's gorgeous sketch.

Here's the sketch

And here's my layout

Hope you can come and play along with us here

Always challenge yourself :-)

Last weekend DS2 had a 12th birthday sleepover party with 4 mates in the shed.
With the excuse of supervising the ruckus I got some extra time
in my art room (also in the shed) :-D
So.... I had a play with the most recent One Little Word challenge
(one of my favourites) - Always

I love the effect of the inkpads with the chevron TCW template
(Chunky Chevron - TCW322)
combined with my new Kaisercraft dictionary stamp,
and the colours went so nicely with my new washi tapes from
Lowri at The Paper Vine.
I cut the title with my MM Slice using the Music & Dance card,
and used a Carl punch for the leaves.

Thanks so much for dropping by
and for your lovely comments, they make my day :-)

Love is in the Air

I recently won a lovely prize from 7 Dots Studio,
a pack of their new range called 'Love is in the Air',
full of soft pastels with a hint of distressed type patterns.
I'm not much of a pastel gal but this is really pretty!
Here are the two pages I have done so far...
Both things I love, in honour of Valentine's Day today :-)

The background on the next page was done with a TCW template
and a mix of leftover light brown/yellow mists.
When my mists are getting too low to spray properly
I pour them into each other and mix similar colours,
it makes them go that little bit further.

You can keep up with new releases and what people are doing with their papers

Thanks so much for dropping by.

SWAT with texture

Are you going to play at Sketches with a Twist this month?
It's a gorgeous sketch designed by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen
and the twist is 'texture paste'

This is my page, I flipped and turned the sketch.
The chevron is done with texture paste and a TCW stencil
then misted while still wet. For the splats I used Tim Holtz
distress stain -tarnished brass, it's awesome!
The picture I took when I was in Darwin last year
my first sunset over the ocean, so beautiful!
So come along and play with us,
check out the blog for some DT inspiration.
