Jot Mood

Playing with the Jot challenge for April I came up with this.

Loving some old Hambly transparencies on a misted background.

From this mood board, isn't it pretty?!

It's a Love / Hate Thing

The February challenge over at Gauche Alchemy is a twist on the regular schmaltzy Valentines and gave me something to think about before I came up with this. It's a layout very much in keeping with my warts and all documentation of life. I love and adore this man for so many reasons...
Smoking is not one of them.

This is the mood board
and you can check out what the other gals are doing on the blog.

We'd love you to join us, the linky tab is looking a little neglected so come and get your gauche on with us! Anything goes, creatively speaking.

twisting it up

I have missed the challenges over at Sketches with a twist
since leaving the team, they always stretch me scrap-wise.
So...having a little extra time this month
I had a play with the Feb challenge.

This is the sketch, the twist is to use ric rac.
as you can see I spun it 180 degrees.
Not much on it, ric rac, cardstock, ink sprays,
a bit of patterned paper behind the gorgeous Fabscraps
phone booth given to me by my lovely friend Sharmaine.
The splats are done with a Tim Holtz distress paint dabber, and I used some awesome houndstooth washi I got from Blitsy under the photo.

February was a good month for scrapbooking challenges.

Pistachio

September's WW1 challenge was white with pistachio.
Seemed perfect for Ireland.
I never get tired of scrapping these pictures
taken nearly 2 years ago at Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Ireland.
If I ever win lotto I'm going to buy a house in Ireland and
live there every winter 'coz I love the cold!
(And the whiskey ;-)

A 'thank-you' scrap

I have met Peta a few times at various retreats,
she brings along the best products and most well-stocked shop
I've ever seen on the road!
So much so that I have increased my mandatory spending budget for getaways.
Awesomely you can also shop with her online here, and
keep up with what she's got going on here.

So I had a go at 2 of the 3 challenges up at
Scrapbooking from Scratch this month just to say
thanks for being fabulous!

First up is the sketch by Anita

Patterned papers, die-cut tags, flowers and buttons from Graphic 45.
Glitz Designs woodgrain alpha stickers, Crate Paper wood grain paper,
Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon, Dymo, twine, Bazzill white cardstock
and a wet tea bag.

and secondly Donna's colour challenge

The sweet layered banner flags are from Charm's Creations.
Background done with bubble wrap and Tattered Angels Chalkboard mists,
Glitz Designs patterned papers, Chic Tags,
and cardstock & alpha stickers from Crate Paper.

It's school holidays here for the next 2 weeks so
I'm hoping to get in some more play time :-)

Thanks so much for dropping by,
Hope your world is being wonderful.

Chic layout

A little while back Chic Tags had a challenge on their blog to use triangles on your page.
I had fun with the challenge but alas didn't get it up in time to participate
so here it is now.

Along with the Chic Tags there is some Bazzill cardstock,
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, and a few Kaisercraft decorative brads.

Gauche Helmar

Recently Gauche Alchemy and Helmar did a bit of a swap
and we Alchemists got to play with some awesome sticky stuff!

I had a lot of fun getting gluey with this project

It all started with a kraft dress-form and a ball of paper twine from Lincraft.
I covered the dress-form with the twine using a generous amount of Helmar PVA glue and once dry, set about decorating it.
You'll find lots of doodads from the GA Color Kits, punchinella, burlap, ouchless cardboard, lace, and found objects all solidly stuck with the amazing Helmar 450, it may be a little bit stringy but well worth it for the speed and strength of the bond.
I have coloured her up with loads of Dylusions and added some glittery highlights with Tattered Angels Glams and Glazes then used a bit of Rub & Buff on the neck and waist bands.

The quote says "An ounce of mother is worth a ton of clergy"

Yes, I needed some validation.

123 Just in time!

Gotta love getting a challenge done AND uploaded just in the nick of time.
This one was my afternoons effort, amazing that it got finished since it was one of those times.... Every mist bottle I picked up became blocked, everything got spilled, and I now have black all over my favourite pink cardi... yep...
So was it worth it?
You be the judge.
It's for the 123 Challenge blog

Home-made stencil on the cheap

If you've read my article in the latest Australian Scrapbooking Memories magazine
you will recognise the stencil I have used on this page.
It's hand-cut (using a craft knife) from a muesli bar box that I salvaged out of the recycling.
It is only simple but I love it. On this page I laid it down and stamped black paint on bubble wrap through it, after I had coloured the white cardstock with some mists of course :-)
The divine crochet was made by Becci Sundberg from Lime Tree Creations
(she is making larger items these days, her work is superb quality!)
and I also added a square paper doily, foam alpha stickers covered with Tattered Angels Chandelier Glimmer Glam, Dymo journalling, and a few pearl brads from who knows where.

Thanks so much for dropping by

Paper Haus projects

Here is one of my pages from the Spring issue of Paper Haus ezine.
If you haven't had a squizz yet make sure you do, it is so full of prettiness!

I also have a step-by-step on making this teeny tiny album in there.

Our very own Aussie Stacey Young along with Maiko Kasugi and Lisa Gregory
are the amazingly talented featured artists, you really need to see their work!

Happy reading!

My Fave for Paper Issues

I think this might be my favourite page of 2012,
recently published in Scrapbooking Memories
where I have snagged a spot on the Creative Team for 2013 :-D

I'm linking it up at Paper Issues where they are having a 'Favourites' theme.
My term on the DT there is over now but you can still get 20% off in the shop using my code 'PEGGLES'

Come play along, it doesn't get any easier!

This one didn't make the cut...

This month over at the Tattered Angels blog we are playing with stencils, masks, and templates, my favourite misty play! I have done so many projects that I had to cull a few from the final post and so this one got the chop because I ended up covering most of the masked area with the photo. I have used a Prima mask on the background with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and the TA Iron Works Screen as a stamp down the right side of the page. TA Chalkboard mist on dark brown card with Scrapware circles as a mask make up the photo mat. Finished off with Prima flowers and bling, Pink Paislee artisan element, alpha and patterned paper circles.
Thanks so much for dropping by, be sure to head on over to the Tattered Angels blog and have a squizz, you may even want to put in a submission for their DT call which is open until the 16th of this month, but be quick!
