Krafting Clearly, It's a Challenge

G'Day All

Dropping in today to share my page for the Kraft+ challenge this month.
- I can see clearly. That is - Use something clear on your page.
I went with a beautiful Hambly Screen Print transparency.
Hambly is unfortunately no longer with us but I know a place
where you can still get your hands on some. I love these!

I cut out a matching oval from my kraft card background, stuck my Hambly on top,
then stapled my oval photo on it, so my picture has a clear frame around it, cool eh?!

The alpha title is transparent too, albeit with a tinge of grey.
I have been a bit liberal with my spray inks so it might be a little
hard to see the kraft cardstock, but I assure you it is there.

I like this page, the background evokes the spirit of the night,
and I love how the mist has given the white pen an ombre effect, happy accident.

ITAC Challenge

Howdy Folks!
Art time, are you getting any?

I have been playing along with the ITAC challenges which ends today.
In my last post I shared my first one, today I completed the last one, just in time.

Here they are in order, I'm quite pleased how they turned out.
All done on 11" x 14" canvas board.

1 - Europe

 2 - Asia

3 - Oceania

4 - Africa

5 - The Americas

6 - The World

Now to get into some scrapping, I have a mini album I'm doing as a Design Team project, full of art retreat pics.... FUN!!

Hope you are getting some downtime to create.
Til next time,

Mixed Media Europe

Hiya Arty Peeps!

Ok, so there's this new company about called AALL & Create that is running a creative competition known as ITAC 17. The first challenge is all about Europe.

I made a mixed media piece on canvas board, 11" x 14".
I dream of one day being free to traipse around Europe at my leisure and soak up all that it has to offer. I also dream of winning lotto to help me achieve this (don't we all!)

I used a photograph from a plane window as a kicking off point, it's now hardly visible. Book pages, corrugated cardboard, washi tapes, and a serviette were the base. Then I added colour with acrylic paints and inks. Stamps and stencils with ink and pens, and finished off with a black paint edge.

I might have another go at this challenge, it has piqued my interest.

Rosy Cheeks and Cheeky Roses

Hi there arty peeps, hope your day is going well

Today I'm sharing my page for the current K+ challenge, it seems lately this is the only monthly challenge I'm keeping up with.

Roses 3 ways - patterned paper, cut file kraft background, black die cut.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxides from Scrapping Clearly for the blotchy blue.

Last weekend I was retreating with Neet from Flutterby Designs at Lake Keepit, so much fun! I only managed one scrapbook layout and a few art journal pages, but I did get to hang out with some favourite friends and meet some great new ones.

Lucky me off on another road trip, to Melbourne for another retreat, weekend after next. Can't wait! Hope you are getting creative time too.

Scrapbooking challenge K+

Hi and Welcome,
to my sadly neglected little corner of the Blogosphere.

I must have too much on my plate creatively speaking, and unfortunately, this blog is what so frequently gets bumped. Sorry.

But, I'm here today, YAY!
And happy to share a page I've done for the K+ challenge blog.
This month the challenge was to use just one colour, and I know technically black isn't a colour, but what are you gonna do when your low-light photos need it to make them shine?

It just had to be black, don't you think?

Thanks for dropping by

We've been away and had fun....

Hiya
It's been a busy month.
DT commitments, school stuff going on, school holidays, and a trip to New Zealand. Busy but fun!
Not much creative time but I did play along with CSI #227
I was on a bit of a stash-busting spree.... so not a style I do very often.

For my 'evidence' I used stripes, flowers, frames. For my 'testimony' I uised a humour prompt and put my journalling in a frame.

And just for fun, here are some photos from our holiday in New Zealand.

Young, Wild, and Free!

Hi Y'all
This month I had a chance to play with the K+ challenge to use denim on your project. Mine is a pocket from an old pair of black denim jeans, the legs of which have already been made into wheat bags, we can never have too many of those in the house!

I typed my story on a tag and tucked it in the pocket.

And I wanted to share this page which was up on the Scrapping Clearly blog in February just because I really like it :-)

I made it with the Kaisercraft 'Boho Dreams' collection papers and stickers with some Dylusions ink sprays for colour.

Keep an eye on the Scrapping Clearly blog in the next few days, I'm sharing my new arty love, such a fabulous thing!!
Thanks so much for coming by,
'Til next time, stay arty,

Scrapping Boys

Hi All
Welcome again.
Playing along with Scrap The Boys January challenge today.
The brief is to use numbers on you page.
Here's what I did.

I started off with a TCW numbers stencil and some light inkpads but it got kind of buried under the patterned paper and my bootprint stencil. So, when I had finished embellishing with the gorgeous Kinder Kreations chippy stars and 'Epic' word, I added some more numbers using a Tim Holtz layering stencil with some black ink.

Thanks for coming by
Hope January is treating you well.

Another celebration of gal pals.

CSI Challenge

It has been ages since I've felt able to play with
a challenge blog
and I have missed it.
This one in particular, CSI, always
manages to bring out my favourite pages.
I'm not sure I got the colours exactly right and I forgot to use the sketch,
but that doesn't matter because this page is really important to me.

The Colour Blast paste, and inkpads, as well as the awesome WeRMK Typecast typewriter are from Scrapping Clearly.

Here is the case file

I have used enamel dots, different letter stickers, and letters as design.
I used the 'sweet' 'life' inspiration words.
It took me in a very different direction.

Hello Again

Six months.
Quite a while.
I guess 2016 took it's toll on my blog too.

Happy New Year (fingers crossed)!
Here I am wishing for better things from this year.

I am currently designing for Scrapping Clearly, having let the others go,
and am attempting to reconnect with my erstwhile passion for scrapbooking.
My heart is leading me towards the story-telling side of the craft more and more just at a time when the kids are growing up and living lives largely without me.
This leaves me in a quandary.
I guess this will be my challenge to work through this year.

I have a couple of gigs lined up, sharing at retreats.
February at HVR with SFS I will be talking about journalling and looking at how to get the most out of your stencils.
November at Gundagai for Scrapping Clearly, still planning.

I'm hoping to be able to share here much more regularly too.
And with that in mind here is a page I've done for the SC January mood board.
We'd love you to play along. The prizes are always fabulous!

This is the mood board, if you click on it
you'll go to the upload folder on Facebook.

We also have a sketch challenge.
No automatic alt text available.
Thanks for coming by
Hope to see your projects in the SC galleries.
