Mixed Media @ Berry71bleu

Another post today......
yes, I'm catching up on a month's worth of challenges at the last minute,
I should have spread them out more but
sometimes life gets in the way of blogging
and getting creative, for sanity's sake, takes priority.
So here is another page, this time created for the

There are layered papers covered with gesso, mists, inks, embossed chipboard,
ribbon, string mesh, washi tape, flowers and touches of paint.
A messy and much fun page to make.

Thanks again for stopping by

UmWow, I flaired!

I had some fun with UmWow this month too.
Playing along with their sketch challenge with this page

I have used a piece of chunky chevron border
(painted with distress stain in brushed pewter),
a view finder film reel (coloured with a black Copic marker),
some heart confetti (with black Kindyglitz),
and a couple of sidewalk chalk flair.

This is the sketch

Gorgeous, right!

Thanks heaps for coming by

Page Drafts

There were 5 gorgeous sketches at Page Drafts for February
and I had scrapped 2 before I realised they were
supposed to be about something I love.
So.... I had to do a third...

I really love that my husband has a big shed full of tools
and that he allows my boys free reign to explore and build.
I love that they would rather do this than
sit in front of a screen all day like some of the other kids we know.
This warms my heart and gives me confidence that they will grow into
capable, well-rounded men full of heart (and skills).

My page is based on this sketch

twisting it up

I have missed the challenges over at Sketches with a twist
since leaving the team, they always stretch me scrap-wise.
So...having a little extra time this month
I had a play with the Feb challenge.

This is the sketch, the twist is to use ric rac.
as you can see I spun it 180 degrees.
Not much on it, ric rac, cardstock, ink sprays,
a bit of patterned paper behind the gorgeous Fabscraps
phone booth given to me by my lovely friend Sharmaine.
The splats are done with a Tim Holtz distress paint dabber, and I used some awesome houndstooth washi I got from Blitsy under the photo.

February was a good month for scrapbooking challenges.
Thanks so much for coming by

Dusty Sketch

So I found a sketch challenge on the Dusty Attic blog.
I haven't played there before and I have a few of their delightful
and whimsical chipboard pieces so
enticed by the gorgeous sketch I put this together.
I didn't go with the extra criteria of Valentines
and kept it fairly simple.....

Some paint, ink, a doily, butterflies from Clear Cut Crafts,
Kaisercraft bling flourishes, Pink Paislee trim,
a Tim Holtz stamp, chevron bag from D-lish Scraps,
Dymo, Thickers, old rub-ons, and a
beautiful piece of Dusty Attic chipboard,

Here is the sketch

So nice to have a pic of my beautiful girl to scrap,
they are pretty rare these days.

Thanks so much for coming by,
leave me a message so I can come visit you too.

Christmas Sparkle

using some Christmas photos. Apart from my December Daily mini album
I haven't scrapped any of these pics yet so when I saw
the sparkles mixed with neutral colours....
February's Inspiration Board Challenge
I put together this page

Using patterned papers from a Prima 12 x 12 script pad,
Tim Holtz Distress Paint, some gyprock tape,
my new favourite punch (chevron from Stampin' Up),
some vintage buttons, Dymo, and wood grain
chippy alpha (Studio Calico?).

I'm loving these inspiration boards!
And thank-you to Scrapbook Creations Magazine
for my awesome Lincraft prize last month.

Gauche Valentines

I had a wonderful time playing with the Feb. Chocolate Box kit
from Gauche Alchemy recently, there are just so many
brilliant little trinkets and trims, bits of patterned papers, vinyl, napkins,
vintage mag pages and sheet music, punchinella and other sparkly stuff
with which to make mixed media art.
.....and a 6" x 6" stretched burlap canvas! Too cool!
All at such a bargain price that you can afford to stock up on
lots more quirky goodies from the shop.
But wait
there's more!

with free shipping available on
qualifying orders!

Here's the first of 6 projects I made

For more details on how it came together,
and close up pics, check out my blog post here.

Thanks so much for coming by
and leaving me love :-)

For Sherry

My Lovely friend Sherry Mendoza is designing and she let me play with these fab London Spots. I'm not a pocket page gal so I used them on a 12 x 12 layout.

The background is made on a gessoed piece of cardstock with
then sprayed with Ranger Dylusions spray inks.
I got the sparklets from The Paper Vine.

Serendipity

These photos have been on my desk for a couple of weeks waiting for inspiration. It came in the form of 2 challenges combined...

Together these 2 challenges were perfect, almost serendipitous
how my photos were already printed, I did add a big one though.

I love how it turned out.
I really thought it was going to be harder to get this memory scrapped
so I'm very grateful that circumstances combined to
make this happen.

Thanks for dropping by

Explore

It's a thing in scrapbooking circles to choose a word for a year.
I'm not consistent enough to manage to stick to it for that long but I try.
I live with the word, I art with it, place it in regular view and
do my best to follow through.
Last year it was 'move', I'm still working on that...
This year, in an effort to get more cerebral
I have chosen 'explore'.
I scrapped it.

Using mists, heat embossing, stamping, splattering, doodling,
bling, paper scraps, and a glarey flair that says 'create'.

I linked it up to Challenge Yourself
for their second challenge.

The challenge is open until 5 Feb.

I'm also linking up at Berry71Bleu
and hopefully getting in just in the nick of time!

Thanks heaps for dropping by
