Kylemore Abbey

In Connemara, County Galway. Spectacular!
We drove the Connemara Loop on this day and got lost on the small roads a couple of times. The weather was damp, overcast, occasionally raining and the scenery everything you expect of Ireland.... lush, green, and sooo beautiful. This is Kylemore Abbey where we stopped for a late lunch. Originally built in 1867 by Mitchell Henry as a romantic gift for his wife who died tragically on holiday in Egypt only 7 years later. In loving memory he built the gothic chapel in 1878, last pic.

I have managed to get back on the scrappy horse finally too so will post a couple of layouts soon.
Thanks so much for dropping by

  2. The Connemara is such a beautiful area of Ireland, loved the gardens at Kylemore and was gobsmacked by the marble in the chapel!
Fantastic photos, can't wait to see some of them scrapped!
