123 Shades of Purple

I had a fun play with the 123 challenge, purple is not an easy colour for me to work with but I love chevron and still have a few more copies of these cute pics of my girl and her bestie sooooo....

It isn't quite that yellow irl, not sure what happened there. The chevron is done with a Crafter's Workshop stencil and a plum inkpad. Lots of Tattered Angels mists and Dymo as usual, sort of my signature now.

Clearly a Paper Issues Blog Hop

FIRST STOP ON THE HOP :-D
'I Can See Clearly' is the new theme up at Paper Issues.
And that means a new mini hop - Yay! And a giveaway - Double Yay!!
So if you have a project using anything involving transparencies, vellum, clear acrylic, acetate, whatever you can see through, then be sure to link it up.
Now become a follower of the PI blog and the PI Facebook page
and my blog (not compulsory but very much appreciated :-),

This is the prize, honestly, I want this one! It has a labeller!!!

Lowri at PaperVine (#4 on the hop) has donated it so be sure to follow her too.

For my pages I used Hambly overlays (grateful I have a few still stashed away)
they are gorgeous in both quality and design.
On the first page I used an older transparency with frames
(I journalled on the big frame with an American Crafts Slick Writer)
and a new transparency with black chevron.

And for the second page I used the black and white chevron patterns overlaid on each other,
the effects that you can get are so cool!

Enjoy the hop and be sure to link something up at PI,
you really want to be in on the chance for this prize!

NEXT STOP..........

Sketches with a Twist

A new DT position and challenge for me working with sketches.
It's something I don't normally do so it might just stretch me a little creatively,
that's gotta be a good thing right?

It has a lot of scope for making it your own while still using all the elements.
I found it very easy to work with. I rotated it once to the left but kept the original
positioning of the banner under the photos then added a bit more banner
to the upper left corner to provide flow and unity to the page.
The twist was to add doodling.
The base is some of the 'ouchless cardboard' from the Gauche Alchemy Etsy shop,
they have some fantastic and unique products, you should go check it out.

Thanks so much for dropping by,
be sure to link up your creation here if you use the sketch,
there's a prize up for grabs :-)

Off with the Birds

While I was away teaching at a retreat recently I was given the BITW challenge word by the lovely Kylie Symons who I was sitting with. I haven't played at this challenge blog before and haven't used a word prompt since OLW closed down, so this was fun. The word is 'Change'.

I scrapped Paris, yes agaaaaaaain! That city is just so photogenic! (even if it is covered in dog poo).
Have used a gorgeous Dusty Attic, TCW basket weave template, mists, Tim Hotltz tissue tape.

Thanks so much for dropping by, always so nice to have visitors :-)

White with Cream, who'd've thought.....

The challenge over at White With One for May was white/cream/chipboard and I was all prepared for it to be a tough one for me but it didn't turn out that way at all. I must admit that I forgot the chippy bit and used a Kaiser wooden bird, along with some gorgeous 7Dots Studio patterned paper, Tim Holtz tissue tape, Basic Grey ribbon doiley, German Scraps, and pearls from Rae's gorgeous shop Scrap Matrix. Must admit I was quite happy with the result and very surprised at how the cream stood out against the white.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and remember you still have a few days to play over at WW1

123

I have had lots of commitments this month and not much time to play, still trying to unpack from my amazing trip to Darwin where I saw my first ever sunset over the ocean and did classes with the fantabulous Finnabair, an experience that will live in my scrappy heart for many years to come!

So...... Playing this month with the 123 Challenge
This is what I came up with... it's a bit slap-dash and put together with whatever was on my table and within reach but there you go....

Thanks so much for dropping by :-)

Gauche Alchemy and PI

What an awesome combination!
Time to bust out of your comfort zone.
You are challenged to use non-traditional supplies on your projects.
So here is my project
I've used some old pages from a journal I kept in High School (the drawing is by a talented friend), a postcard that tickled me back in my Nursing days, paint, magazine clippings, ink, correction tape, ancient stickers, thickers, pens, and my beloved Dymo.
Gauche Alchemy is the awesome sponsor for this theme!
They have the BEST stuff!
They are offering Paper Issues readers a discount too!
Use the code PAPERISSUES2012 in the Gauche shop and you will receive
30% off anything except kit subscriptions!  WOW!  That's awesome!
You can get their amazing washi tape, punchinella, ouchless cardboard, and more!
Check them out!
*********
Paper Issues are also giving away a Gauche-tastic kit!
You know the drill: Like PI on Facebook.  Like Gauche on Facebook.
Link up a project here for extra credit.  Link up a project at Gauche for even more!
Wanna know what you can win?  Of course you do.
 How fabulous is that!
So off you go and get busy, wouldn't want to miss out.

Thanks heaps for dropping by
