What we expect from you: Have fun! We are a very laid back, fun group.
No drama here.

You will need a Facebook account, we have a group there for discussion.

We pick themes for challenges and if you have something to add, great! If you don't, that's ok too.

There are no required projects.

Paper Issues is about showcasing your talents. You get out of it what you put into it.

Inspired by the amazing Louise Nelson I had a play with the challenge over at 123 this month using some pics I took recently in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have used some Tattered Angels Graphite mist and some Ranger Distress Stain in Weathered Wood. I KindyGlitzed the snowflakes and 'Joy' and used a bit of old 7Gypsies gaffer tape for a splsh of colour.

Kylemore Abbey

In Connemara, County Galway. Spectacular!
We drove the Connemara Loop on this day and got lost on the small roads a couple of times. The weather was damp, overcast, occasionally raining and the scenery everything you expect of Ireland.... lush, green, and sooo beautiful. This is Kylemore Abbey where we stopped for a late lunch. Originally built in 1867 by Mitchell Henry as a romantic gift for his wife who died tragically on holiday in Egypt only 7 years later. In loving memory he built the gothic chapel in 1878, last pic.

I have managed to get back on the scrappy horse finally too so will post a couple of layouts soon.

I have created the background with my Tattered Angels mists then made some layers down the right side with patterned papers, a photo, and the lovely Tim Holtz Distress Stains (gotta lurve the way you can 'splotch' these!)

This month over at the Tattered Angels blog we are playing with stencils, masks, and templates, my favourite misty play! I have done so many projects that I had to cull a few from the final post and so this one got the chop because I ended up covering most of the masked area with the photo. I have used a Prima mask on the background with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and the TA Iron Works Screen as a stamp down the right side of the page. TA Chalkboard mist on dark brown card with Scrapware circles as a mask make up the photo mat. Finished off with Prima flowers and bling, Pink Paislee artisan element, alpha and patterned paper circles.

October was the month for Color Kits over at the Tattered Angels blog, there are so many to choose from, and all so different, they really take the headache out of colour-matching. I had the 'Rustic Barn' one available to me and although I would normally add a different colour to a mix like this I thought I'd challenge myself and use only what's in the box. I love the results I got!

Wendy and Nat are so easy to work for, and with, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I haven't played over at Let's Get Shabby for ages so it was so nice to get some time to get messy and girly with their new challenge. The brief was image based and needed to include paint and flowers so this is what I came up with.

Some yummy Prima flowers and lace, Ranger crackle paint, Kaiser bling, and I have added some sparkle to the title with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. The gorgeous hatpins are from Carol at Tattered Inspirations.

The challenge over at Scrap the Boys this month was to use household/family ephemera on your layout, I went with some stones from around the yard to put on this page of Ed and his rock collection. I took the opportunity to use up some scraps too and have Glimmer Mist-ed the Tim Holtz pp as a background.

The theme is Tree-huggers so I thought I'd share with you a couple of projects on wood. This first one was done recently for the Tattered Angels blog, A Kaisercraft wood frame with lots of lovely layers for the background. I have used a variety of leftover patterned papers, burlap from Canvas Corp, and findings from Tim Holtz, Kaisercraft, 7Gypsies, Pink Paislee, and Prima, all covered with lashings of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

The next one is from a while back when we did a wood theme on the Tattered Angels blog. I used Glimmer Mist, Glaze, and Glam to paint this sweet little cabinet that a friend gave me, it has since been auctioned to raise money for Queensland Flood Relief.

And because I'm really a scrapbooker at heart and don't want to leave a post without a page, here's one using the new Bush Christmas foiled paper from Alison Ellis Design.

Tattered Angels and Mistables

This month we are playing with lots of different products on the market that can be misted and painted. There is some awesome work up on the Tattered Angels blog, well worth checking out, very inspiring!
I had a play with some resist papers, heaps of fun and made by lots of companies these days; Pink Paislee, Tim Holtz, Prima, just to name a few. On this page I used Firefly Chalkboard mist for the background, Inchworm Chalkboard mist for the Tattered Angels crepe ribbon, Graphite Glimmer Mist for the Maya Rd Organza Ribbon Trim which started off white. The patterned papers are from Pink Paislee's Daily Junque range.

In the next layout I have used a canvas banner from Canvas Corp. and Prima flower and length of lace with some Tim Holtz tissue tape. Glimmer mist colours include Sand, Tattered Leather, and Aquamarine, and I have used some Hayride Glimmer Glam for the flower and the butterfly trail. The lace is coloured with Inchworm Chalkboard mist and a dusting of Patina Glimmer Mist.

Well I didn't take many photos and they were all on my phone so they are pretty shabby and I'm not going to share as plenty of other people have already. That said, I did an amazing class with Tattered Angels Design Team-mate Sherry Mendoza, it really got the mojo flowing and got my hands so colourful and glimmery. I love it!

It's taking me a while to clear my desk at the moment, things are coming in quicker than I can deal with them so this is from my trip to Brisbane for the Scrapbook Expo back in June. I did a class with my good buddy Louise Nelson, she's an awesome artist, and was teaching there for Scrapapple online shop using lots of lovely Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. It looks a bit different from the original but the techniques are the same and it was a brilliant class, I would highly recommend Lou as a teacher!

This month over at the Tattered Angels blog we have been showcasing the Color Connection with Pink Paislee. I got to work with the superb 'Daily Junque' paper range and matching paints: Dark Denim and Aquamarine Glimmer mists, Pewter Glimmer Glaze and Organic Garden Glimmer Glam, a more perfect match for versatility you haven't seen.
I am so impressed with how it is possible to get any look from sweet girly to filthy boyish, arty, eclectic or grunge out of this team of products. Seriously I could work with them for months and have a different look each time. I created way more than the required 3 projects because I just couldn't stop myself (and I did try!).
My TA blog post is due tomorrow so you'll have to go and check it out, but until then here is a grungey taste of what I've been up to.

Well it's been a long time since I've been to a wedding but that was the theme over at Tattered Angels for May so I had lots of fun putting this Bridal Fan together, you can find instructions for this and other fabulous wedding ideas from the Design Team here

This is a page I did using the Tattered Angels paints and Wedding palette, such pretty colours together. I also used my new Cuttlebug to emboss the cardstock music under the photo, seriously, I love the Cuttlebug!!

I had a fantastic weekend recently at Scrapawhile in Taree doing a Tattered Angels class with the amazing Nat Kalbach. We got the low-down on how to use all four of the gorgeous Tattered Angels paint types together, lots of information and techniques.
It was also a great opportunity for me to meet up with some of the other Tattered Angels Design Team girls, so much fun!

Well here it is, I finally put the finishing touches on and coated it with satin spray varnish to protect from dust and moisture. There is a lovely image/collage inspiration this month over at Scrap the Girls, totally irresistible, and Sasha from Shop & Crop sent me some gorgeous Pink Paislee/House of 3 to play with so I had to.....play :-)
Of course there are some Tattered Angels mists in there too! (( have misted the paper with Firefly & Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard and the fabric with Jack Frost Glimmer Mist, the Kaisercraft wooden bird and the chippy alpha have been painted with Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze. I also stamped the tree on with a Tattered Angels screen and some Decadence Chalkboard mist.)

This is my favourite project for March, a discarded dress-form prettied up with fabric strips coloured with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, a couple of chipboard swirls from Memory Maze were used for wings, some buttons, silk ribbons, a flower, and some pearls.....

New Favourite Photo!

I went out after dark last night for the first time in a long time. To the UNE Bistro in Armidale to see my besties DS play with his band 'Watussi'. I knew they were good, I had heard a little online and was aware that they were on their way to Brisbane to back up Santana! I love the rhythms in Columbian music and there is something so sexy about singing in Spanish, I probably well needed a good dance, and I was hanging to take some gig-pix, it's been decades!
The venue was dead when us oldies arrived, way too early, at 9.30pm. The back-up band still had an hour before going on and Watussi would be on an hour after that. In the break I moved up to a good spot at the front of the mosh-pit. I was in heaven amid the swinging bodies and arms, swaying plastic mugs of piss, pushing and shoving excitement of youth in celebration of music, sex, alcohol and hormones. I had a camera for armour and surprisingly the kids respected it. A handful wanted me to take their photo, it was easier to say yes than try to explain that they would probably never see it. I uploaded a couple to the uni's FB page but it doesn't look a very frequented place.
So this is where my most recent favourite photo came from...... It was a great night, a night I am thankful for regardless of only having managed 4 1/2 hrs sleep followed by a long and busy day......

White With One this month was Pink, Artisan shapes and white.... Yum!

I used a WoW Chippy frame as a mask with the gorgeous new Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Mist from Tattered Angels. Some Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, Prima flowers, Kaiser Pearls, handstitching with cotton twine, and Carolees Creations/Adornit alpha stickers and American Crafts thickers.
Oh, and a little bit of cheap-shop ribbon :-)

was where I went for the weekend. A sheep station called The Dag to be precise. A retreat with only 17 attendees, no phone service, no internet, no shop, no distractions..... Heaven!

I got busy with my AWESOME 2Peas Imaginisce prize pack on the weekend and this is what I did :-)

With a few flicks and squirts of the luscious Spring Ltd Ed. Tattered Angels Sun Sisters Glimmer Mist.

And these papers were just crying out for some of the brand new Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Mist and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist, a match made in heaven!

With the prize pack I also got a new i-bond cordless hot glue gun which is amazing and my new favourite tool! It is weighted because of the batteries, so it doesn't tip over and it also doesn't dribble while waiting for me to use it. It is THE best way I have ever attached Prima flowers, I even used it for the lace on the layout above, LOVE it!

Boy-Style Shabby

I was so inspired by the brief and the gorgeous DT work over at Let's Get Shabby this month that I literally ran to my scraproom and did this page.

I started with white Bazzill, added some black acrylic paint and then Glimmer Misted 'Denim Blue' over a Crafters Workshop template for the diamonds. I used a combination Mustard Seed, Gold and Coffee Shop Glimmer Mists to colour the crepe. I cut up a worn-out pair of jeans (after making wheat bags out of the legs), added some lovely silvery grey/brown lace, found those ancient Heidi Swapp chippy letters and a couple of FTI screw brads and.....
I love it!

I had so much fun playing with the paints on metal this month, the effects you can get are amazing! I especially love the faux rust and lichen on these tin buckets I found at Bunnings...

I also took the opportunity to use up some really old metal embellishments I had. They started off as a variety of colours and the paint has tied them all together and made them match my layouts.

Is the lovely 'Timeless' Collection from Kaisercraft, I have teamed it with some of the new wood flourishes and paper flowers then added some Tim Holtz crackle paint and Tattered Angels Golden Goddess Glimmer Glam.

The title is Echo Park 'Be Mine' alpha stickers and I coloured the folded strip of patterned paper with a Versacolor 'Ash Rose' inkpad.

this was my beautiful boy before he recently shaved his head :-)
Tattered Angels Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist was used on cream cs for the background, I love the coppery sheen it has.
I upcycled some corrugated cardboard, string, and a big button from a wornout vintage overcoat from my great aunt's camphorwood chest.

The New Chalkboard mists are officially out now at CHA, you can check out what we, the DT, did with them on the blog here. For my page I wanted to sample each of my new colours so I split up my page and used each independently then stitched between them to define the border. Must say they are much richer and more vibrant in tone than the older chalks, really luscious and yummy to work with!

Over at Soul Scrappers with the Glee Club challenges. This layout was for challenge #1, 'Classic Rock' inspired by this album cover (at right)
I have used Tattered Angels Chalk Mist on black cardstock, some Brick Glimmer Mist on red paper for the heart and the brand new Apricot Nectar Chalboard Mist for the wings. The title is done with thickers (foam) painted with Tattered Angels Be Positive Glimmer Glam and Golden Goddess Glimmer Glam.

New instore at Shop & Crop is the lovely new 'Be Mine' range from Echo Park, not my usual colour choice but they work so nicely together and I love that the alpha sticker sheet has a variety of alpha styles.

I also got to have a little play with some new Basic Grey Hopscotch...

Well with the wet weather comes indoor time and so over the weekend I got my scrap on and had a lovely time warming up for a few big upcoming projects :-)
I got out the Tattered Angels for most of them, every page need a littl glimmer!
First up for ASJ, I jacked Lisa, not my usual style but so much fun. There are currently 8 gorgeous inspiration pieces so I may well get a few more done.

Next is one for Artastic

Then Punky Scraps, done with CS, Tattered Angels mists, and some old pebbles I found which had gone kinda yellow so I coloured them up with my copics.

Glimmer on Glass

This months brief for Tattered Angels was 'glass'. I hadn't ever tried it before so it was a real eye-opener for me. I found Glimmer Glaze the best product for the job, it sticks well and can be made to look either transparent or opaque. My first project was a small glass jar which I have done up to hold chocs for a thank-you gift. I have used a TA tag and letter stickers, misted of course.

Then I found an old Heidi Swapp mirror album. I stamped some swirls with Stazon then used these as a guide to paint Glimmer Glaze around the edge. I trimmed it with some yummy crepe ribbon (misted) and velvet ribbon, some Kaiser bling, Dymo, fabric alpha stickers and a lovely Girl's Paperie charm.

This is one of the inside pages, misted with several different colours and using a piece of Glimmer Glass as a mask.

Thirdly, a layout. I have misted a tree Glimmer Screen then used it to 'stamp' onto transparency. I cut a grassy edge mask and misted under the tree. Lots of stunning colours make up the background, again with some Glimmer Glass used both as masks and embellishments. I painted the back with yellow to brighten the colour.

So those are my official projects but having had so much fun and explored so little I kept on playing. I tried misting/masking between sandwiched transparencies, it took a little while to dry but they are now firmly stuck together and ready for cutting out and adding to other projects.

Then I tried mists, a combination of Chalkboard and Glimmer Mists, to decorate some cheap acrylic goblets. They took overnight to dry and are now waiting for further attention. I think they'll make nice treasure containers once I seal the outside with a matt spray varnish and trim with some ribbons and bling :-)

I'm so impressed with how Tattered Angels paints and mists have come up on all these surfaces I have a few more things in the pipeline yet! OMG such fun!

Hmmm, so yummy, the new Bahaman Cruise are a limited edition set so if you want them you'd better be quick. They are so rich and, with a mix of warm and cool colours, are perfect for Spring right through Summer. I for one cannot wait to get my hands on them!

With the Gutsy Girls Jilly & Ngai in Brissy in November. This was THE BEST weekend I've had in a long time, the day was amazing and I acquired so many new skills and ideas, I would highly recommend booking in if you are at all interested in dabbling in mixed media art or even if you just want something new to play with. The company, food, and brains to pick were all great. I'm definitely going back for more!

Tattered Angels on wood #3

My last Tattered Angels project for November, I wanted to make a scrapbook layout so of course my wooden bits had to be Kaisercraft (their range of wood products is extensive) I have misted the bird with a mix of Burnt Red and Brick Glimmermists, the leaves were misted with English Ivy and Mustard seed. I used a light spray of English Ivy on the background paper before adding the fence at the bottom with an Ironworks screen which I misted as a mask and then flipped over to stamp with so as not to waste the lovely Brick Glimmermist.
Papers are from the gorgeous Graphic 45 Steampunk range

Tattered Angels on wood #2

This is the back side of an old gilt frame, you know the ones with all the fancy molding. Well the molding is falling off and the back looked so lovely and grungy with the marks from the tape remnants that I decided to use it back-to front :-) I painted it all over with Hayride Glimmer Glam and added some Chianti Glimmer Glaze highlights. I made it into a 'Peg' board ;-) with some chicken wire and an old piece of rope I found in the garden. Decorated with Glimmer Glass leaves misted with Iridescent Gold Glimmermist and a few Prima flowers. I also misted the clothes pegs with English Ivy Glimmermist. It turned out so nicely, now I just have to figure out where to put it.

Tattered Angels on wood #1

This was a first for me, using Tattered Angels products on wood. I am not generally an off the page kinda gal but it was such an eye-opening experience to find and transform some wooden bits I will most likely have another go. This little cabinet was given to me by a friend recently, it started off as light raw pine (with a few cobwebs). I totally love it, and it's just big enough to fit my mist bottles standing up.
I painted the whole thing with Hayride Glimmer Glam which brought out the grain in the wood beautifully and added a golden hue with a stunning verdigris highlight. I then added some colour with Chianti Glimmer Glaze using my finger. The patterns were added using the Ironworks screens (as both a mask and stamp) and Tattered Leather Glimmermist. A Glimmer Glass butterfly painted on the back with Chianti and misted on the front with Iridescent Gold Glimmermist adorns the door, along with some lace, flowers, zipper pulls and old coins.So much fun to alter and I am very happy with the result. I also have plenty of paint leftover :-)

Kraft It Up and others...

I've had a bit of a scrap on since getting 'wings' :-)
So I've done a few blog challenges among other things.
First up is the Nov KIU challenge - use decorative edges

Then one for Scrap the Boys, a super hero theme, I decided to do DH, he's a big boy!
And lastly WW1 - White + yellow + journal directly onto layout (not sure if stamping a journal block on the page first counts..... oh well). It was a quick and easy page and it tells the story :-)
Now off to work on a couple of other exciting projects for Tattered Angels and Shop & Crop then maybe even squeeze in another challenge for Artastic.

Where I scrap...

Just because the lovely Tiff over at TwiddleyBitz is having a little show & tell about scrap spaces (and a giveaway!) I thought I'd share.....
I am aware that I am very spoilt :-) I have a room above a 2 car garage at the front of DH's FBS (filthy big shed), it has a lock for keeping undesirables out, a second story view over our house and the bush block beyond, reverse cycle air, and waaaaay too much stash. Back in the days before the huge stash I could comfortably seat 6 spready scrappers and would love to again but for the mammoth task of cleaning up and finding a home for everything!
This is the view if I stand in front of the big triangular window, my misting/painting/embossing table. And below is the view of where I sit, like a pig in muck, surrounded by my stash. I like everything within reach so I frequently crowd myself out. I haven't shown the piles on the couch and other tables as just looks like a big mess.

The challenge is to creat something fake/faux on your page, I went with a metal finish on chipboard, the big piece is the backing off a 'Fallen' sticker that came with his skate shoes, the chicken wire is from Dusty Attic.
